Case Studies
PR Continuum works with a wide range of clients, drawn from the worlds of architecture, design, property and interiors, to business-to-business, financial and professional services, IT and technology, and the hospitality, arts and entertainment and cultural sectors.
Here is just a flavour of the effective results we achieve for them:
Engineering and technology
Since 2001, PR Continuum has operated the 24/7 Scottish press office on behalf of one of the UK’s largest and most respected engineering and business solutions providers. We relish the challenge of translating their technically intricate projects into interesting news items for both the media and the general public.
Our dedicated, experienced team handles all manner of media enquiries, at all hours of the day and night. From reactive local media enquiries to proactive business announcements of interest to UK national media, and in-depth engineering case studies delivered to specialist professional magazines. Over 90% of media enquiries are answered on the same day we receive them.
Financial and professional services
With the financial services market a key contributor to the UK services economy, we arranged, in London, a series of one-to-one briefings to personal finance journalists to launch ‘internetIFA’ – one of the UK’s first fee-free, internet-based share purchasing systems, which was quickly thereafter handling client funds in excess of many millions.
Telephone interviews with Scottish business journalists were also conducted over the same two-day period. No advertising was placed, and the highly cost-effective, public relations-led launch resulted in over 20,000 hits to the website in the first month of operation.
Property, architecture and interior design
The conversion of a B-listed Victorian sandstone former office development into luxury city apartments presented a challenge for our client, commercial property developers Cityprop Limited.
For their first ever commissioning of a public relations company, Cityprop‘s brief involved launching the development using creative marketing to gain widespread media coverage.
Custom-designed invitations featured a chic French theme, while personal tours of the development for residential property journalists resulted in blanket media coverage, and extremely healthy advance sales.
Arts and Culture
For Glasgow Academy of Musical Theatre Arts (GAMTA), PR Continuum delivers a comprehensive programme of media relations and press office management to promote the school’s high profile shows at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) and Clyde Auditorium.
GAMTA - the Alma Mater of television stars including Michelle McManus, winner of ‘Pop Idol’ and Jade Maguire of ‘Pop’ - is one of the UK’s premier training schools for students set on a career in the professional world of musical theatre.
With PR Continuum on board, extensive media coverage resulted in 94% ticket sales for GAMTA’s 2004 pantomime season showcase, ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ at the SECC.
Hospitality and licensed trade
PR Continuum was selected to launch sister restaurants, Lux and Stazione, having already handled the successful launch of one of Scotland’s first new generation ‘budget’ hotels, in Glasgow city centre.
Our media-savvy clients - long-term business partners and hospitality sector specialists – wanted to place both venues firmly on the map as stylish, consistently high quality venues worthy of repeat visits by discerning diners.
PR Continuum’s comprehensive media programme encompassed news and features writers and broadcasters, restaurant reviewers, ‘What’s On’ listings editors and business organisations. As a result, Lux and Stazione became the ‘must try’ restaurants of choice for many months post launch, and remain so to this day.
"Working with the team at PR Continuum has assisted us in working to achieve our business goals. They very quickly identified what we were trying to achieve and, importantly, who we needed to be communicating with. The team kept me involved and updated throughout, and delivered a successful launch campaign, ensuring that positive media coverage rolled out over several months."
Lena Armitage, Partner, Armitage Associates"PR Continuum came on board in the run up to our 10th Anniversary celebrations. The team listened closely to our needs and, over the following months, rolled out a comprehensive and diverse PR plan which helped GAMTA achieve record student applications and record Christmas pantomime sales at the SECC in Glasgow."
"I have been most impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail shown by the PR Continuum Team and, of course, the personal service which was tailor-made for our specific needs."
Stuart Bird, Principal, GAMTA
